SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for the Event/Operations Manager for SMG/TIAA Bank Field and Daily’s Place. We are seeking an experienced person in event and facility management to join our SMG TEAM. The Assistant Event Manager works for the Director of Events to direct and coordinate personnel, subcontractors, and daily activities involved in the successful execution of a comprehensive Guest Services Program, Event Services delivery and event management. This position plays a primary role in fostering a successful working relationship with primary clientele; City of Jacksonville, Jacksonville Jaguars and all event promoters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assists the Director of Events in planning, coordinating, monitoring, directing, and managing event coordination, operations, security, crowd control, guest and event services, outside contractor service functions, audio/visual services and enforces fire and life safety and ADA compliance.
Coordinates and communicates client’s needs in a timely manner to the appropriate internal and external departments and organizations.
Directs and oversees SMG’s operations department in the absence of the Operations Manager.
Serve as SMG’s “Point of Contact” for Daily’s Place.
Assist SMG staff to implement security plans, security programs such as Emergency Response and Crisis Management, Physical Security, Information Protection, Incident Management and/or Investigation.
Assist in ensuring all Event pertinent information is obtained, compiled and documented with follow-up and distribution to proper entities. This includes but is not limited to compiling, filing, and distributing event settlements, client invoices, medical service reports, incident reports, ejection and arrest reports.
Assist with event management, estimates and customer service at TIAA Bank Field and Daily’s Place as requested by Director of Events.
Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Some travel may be required.
Other duties may be assigned.

Must be able to lift 40lbs, climb stairs, navigate ramps, and stand for prolonged periods of time.
Education and/or Experience
High school graduate with some college training.
3 plus year in related experience in the public assembly industry in a support or management position.
